I thought I was in the running for bloghosting.com on pool.

I got an email saying my $60 bid was outbid and the current bid was $70. No problem, I'll just head over and figure out my bid strategy to win out.

Logged into Pool auctions and the current bid is: $20,500.00

D-:

I'll be curious to see which company snapped it up. I have a feeling it's an end user.

So you got both those domains with snaps?

No just webloghosting.com. I was using the other as an example.

This brings up an interesting point about snapnames service....my success rate for any domain reg at Network Solutions is 0/9!!! I wonder if they are doing something illegal.

Iam losing faith on all these back order services. Most of these are unprofessional artificially boosting the price.

BlogHosting.org

BTW, I was able to get BlogHost.net yesterday with one of the least successful backorder services there is, GoDaddy. I think it was $70 at NW the last time I saw it and may have been at Pool. Just got lucky I guess :).

Seems like bloghosting.com is still locked down and unclaimed at Pool.com.

Looks like another mischievious shill to me. Or the bidder put in one digit too many while drinking Bacardi 151 shots. Or there were 2 jokers who were just playing a game of russian roulette at Pool's expense.

$20k for this domain is ridiculous, imho. If someone was really that serious, they would have approached the registrant way long time ago.

Bring on the WLS!

bloghost.net is really cool, Domainogre, even sounds better than bloghost.com,

Congrats :)

HA HA HA HA. IMO, SOme staffs in pool starts raising the bid amounts, whenever several people compete and bids for a particular domain. I think if nbc.net is caught by pool it will even reach 25000$ with these internal non professional activities.

I have a strong feeling it is not Pool, but the slimy slug registrars who decide to participate in the Pool system. They are the ones probably doing the shilling to get better revenue off the names they caught. Some of these slimy slugs are so disgusting and unprofessional, they don't even want to hand over the name to you because you caught it at $60 and that means low margins for them. Once you pay a couple of thousand quids for the name, those slimy slugs can bend backwards on their knees to hand you the name.

Bring on the WLS!
