I thought I was in the running for bloghosting.com on pool.

I got an email saying my $60 bid was outbid and the current bid was $70. No problem, I'll just head over and figure out my bid strategy to win out.

Logged into Pool auctions and the current bid is: $20,500.00

D-:

I'll be curious to see which company snapped it up. I have a feeling it's an end user.

at that price it must have to be an end user. I don't see that many people spending 20k to resale a name.

Whoever it is needs to learn how to snipe an auction.

BTW Ogre, nice pickup on the .ORG today. :tu:

Thanks :).

After somebody wiped out TopTenList when the .com went high on Pool, I knew I had to move quick on this one.

I was trying for that one too, but obviously things are out of control. There had better be a hosting company set up there by next month!

Wow this is a little crazy but good news also as the domain name business is picking up again. Can't wait to see who bought it.

Well, definitely not good enough to go for $26,000+! But I think its a solid name to begin with.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is Pool and where do I see this?

webloghosting.com

Hi all,

It's amazing to see how much bloghosting.com is going for! I snapped up www.webloghosting.com a few weeks back and felt pretty lucky that I got it :).

My plans are to build a business around this solid domain name and add value. Perhaps down the road it will be worth some $$$.

Cheers,

Vincent

Good pickup :). I think Pool missed on that one. I did end up getting the .net a week or two later.

Itz highly overrated. I have a feeling that someone at pool might have given that domain a false bidding

Apparently they did because it looks like its still held up at Pool.

Instead of buying this domain, they could have first made an offer to the owners of bloghosts.com & bloghost.com. It could have been a lot cheaper than this.

An artificial inflation is being created for several domains at pool.

Cool! I was wondering who registered that one! ;)

They can make an offer, but when you have a really solid domain, it's hard to let go. Especially when there's a great business potential. I honestly can't justify selling a good domain such as www.bloghost.com or www.webloghosting.com for any PRICE(unless it's really really big) because the revenue generated from it, given you have a good business is worth so much more in the long run.

I've got a small stash of domain names over at www.looklisting.com that I've collected(the list isn't updated with newly acquired domains).
