I purchase a .biz domain from a drop. I have listed it for sale but no offer on it. although the domain is a keyword domain with over 10k exact search/month...i was just wondering if .biz is still valuable?
You mean it used to be valuable ?i was just wondering if .biz is still valuable?
I'm not sure if any potential target customers of end-user businesses actually type on Google search that way....type in site:.biz on google search and you'll wind up with 372,000,000 results.
If .BIZ domains don't rank on top, perhaps it means serious content developers do not invest on .BIZ domains.
If i was a cheapo mom-and-pop business, i would probably rather pick a two-word combination domain ending in .COM and unregistered. I could add a "the", "my" or "best" infront of it, and pay only reg fee. And i still get to own a .COM domain which is more reputable.the enduser may be looking for the name, not the extension, and may be just a small entrepreneur not interested in page rank or SEO. I feel that is the case with .biz, which is why the price will fit their budget. It is a small extension and depending on the keyword will only bring in a small roi, but an roi nonetheless...

If no word combination is possible, i'll probably just put up a Facebook account for my business, for free.
.biz is never a first choice, pretty much any .biz taken must have already been taken in .com/.net/.org.If .BIZ domains don't rank on top, perhaps it means serious content developers do not invest on .BIZ domains.
.biz is older and has 2M regs, while .me came 5 years later to the market and has about 630,000 regs.I used that site:.biz only to show that the extension IS being used, and actually used more than .me, which surprised me personally.
Some just want that name at the left of the dot regardless.

Because it's not a 'popular' TLD, the aftermarket is poor.
As a rule, somebody who is willing to spend money on the aftermarket will at least want a strong TLD.
That being said, yes .biz is used by legitimate businesses sometimes, but you won't find a lot of high-profile websites.
Any extension can be developed, but not any extension is fit for pure play domaining.

But there might be more bona fide development in .me. That wouldn't surprise me. Anyway it's more fashionable it seems
As Stu said there are always exceptions....i was just wondering if .biz is still valuable?
These 4 jackpots, are what inspires the rest of the 372 million other losers to reg and speculate if they could become the next lottery winner.gold.biz sold for $20,460 a year ago
ria.biz sold for $10,320 last October
roulette.biz sold for 6,750 Euro at the end of November
tagesgeld.biz sold for $5,109 earlier this month

What are the statistical odds ??
Yes, i was just trying to connect that 372 million odds you previously mentioned, versus the 4 lottery winners the other guy posted....again, my only point was that the extension is in use.
Your previous posts pointed out other reservations regarding the extension.
It will sell if the enduser wants the name and is not concerned about the .biz, page rank or seo, etc., like I said. I also maintained that it is not a goldmine and is perhaps limited to a smaller business or sole proprietorship...
