hello all!

i just wanted to announce the upcoming Bids For Kids Domain auction coming october 1-3. name submissions are being taken now :)

we partnered up with escrow.com and bidjit.com to put this together. we will have this on the front page of bidjit sometime next week.

some info-
its a 3 day auction, from oct 1-3, held online at bidjit

bidjit is relativly new, but out of all the venues i spoke to about this, i was so very thrilled with them. their vision of what they are building is wonderful, and the poeple there are fabulous. you will be seeing a lot more of bidjit in the future.

like moniker, there is a 15% commission charged on each domain sale. unlike moniker, 10% of each sale will go to The Make-A-Wish Foundation®. the remainder covers escrow, venue, costs, etc.

ALL transactions will be handled thru escrow.com- and they will cut the check directly to The Make-A-Wish Foundation®- so money will be contained within one handler- escrow.com. brandon abbey has been wonderful in working with us on this.

all the information for the auction and the name submission form will be on smashfactory.com, and the actual auction will be on bidjit.com.

you can submit domains now- submissions will stop sept. 17th

the only domains NOT being considered at all are adult, trademark or offensive

you can set a reserve for your name so there are no worries about losing a name to a lower than expected price-

if you have ANY other questions post them here please or pm me so all the info is in one thread.

thanks! i hope we raise a nice amount for The Make-A-Wish Foundation®!

lzy- yes yours and others are coming thru just fine-

to generally answer a question that was asked- yes, all info is kept confidential- the deal is between you and the buyer via escrow.com- we reveal nothing :)

what is the advertising looking like. So far i see nothing on bidjit's page about anything upcoming...Would like to see much much more advertising done to see if people will bid and help the cause as well.

I'm already anxious. Auctions and me don't do good. I used to go to house auctions and would leave buying like 3-5 houses. I hate losing when I bid.

hi all!

there has been a slight change- we had to change from st. jude to The Make-A-Wish Foundation® - i was recently made aware from st. jude that my application could not be accepted with them because i submitted it under the 60 day mark- i had no idea about a 60 day mark until they just told me!
but The Make-A-Wish Foundation® was quick to accomodate, and approve my application- and we are good to go with them.
still the same auction, still a great cause!

if you have not submitted any names, get a move on! just so it is clear, you are not donating the full proceeds of your name- it comes out of the 15% commission- the same commission moniker charges. and you do get to set a reserve, so you do not have to worry about "losing" a name on the cheap

for those who did submit names, i am getting ready in a day or two to begin emailing you. i did want to make sure that no matter who submitted names, at least one name would be in, if not more. but everyone should have the opportunity to have something in the auction.

thanks all!
