Sorry for the newbie question but here it is...
I was watching a domain on Dropcatch for a few days. It ended with zero bids. After it ended I checked the 'who is' and it said Dropcatch caught the domain.
So am I right in saying that you can't see how many people have already backordered the domain? What is the difference between bids and backorders?

Bids come into play when more than one person backordered. If only one person backorders they get it right to their account.

Hi

everybody who wants a particular domain has to backorder it, at the respective service they use.

some may charge upfront to place a backorder and some charge only if you win.
(if you win at backorder cost, then nobody else backordered it but you )

a bid, typically is placed after the domain is caught by the service and more than 1 person backordered it....
so, it goes to auction and highest bidder wins.

a seller can also auction a domain, where the highest bidder wins

imo...
