Proverbs 10:12 TNIV

"Hatred stirs up dissension,
but love covers over all wrongs."

Meaning: If every offense became a matter for confrontation, we would be involved in endless conflict.

"covers upโ€ is the opposite of โ€œstirs upโ€. When one truly covers in love one will not stir up matters over the grievance.

"Jesus wept." - John 11:35

Even the son of God has emotions and understands our emotions. This also reminds me that it's ok to cry. Sometimes I will get upset and cry, and get more upset that I am crying and cry more :O This helps though. Shortest verse in the bible btw.

7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.

8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faithโ€”

10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

- Philippians 3:7-11

I am going to go through this verse by verse. :)

7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.

It talks about all that I had gained before I was saved by the grace of God for His glory. All of the meaningless want, pride, and glory that I had built up in this world. The fleshly lusts and wicked thoughts that I had caught myself up with. Before those whom the Lord chooses are saved, they are living for themselves. But now that I am a Christian and serve Christ through every thought I think and every action I take, I count my reward in heaven my all. I count the glory that Jesus Christ gets through my life as my greatest joy. I had to give up all I had that was holding me back in sin to be in fellowship with Christ. And it was the best decision I was ever called to.

8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

Paul is basically repeating what he just said. He wants to get the point across as great as he can! Because this is such a key verse to a Christian! The relationship with Christ is something that is beyond measure. And to think that we have yet to be fully fulfilled of our promised reward! In heaven we will live in a glorified state with our Saviour! We must count all of this world and its carnal thoughts as nothing. We must count Jesus Christ as all! Christianity is an "All-In" deal. You can't serve two masters. You must fully be living for Jesus Christ. NO exceptions.

9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faithโ€”

If we are found in Him, then our lives have been made whole and we enjoy a life of peace! That is not to exclude trials. A Christian will endure more trials and tribulations than a non-believer. But a Christian has a peace to withstand and count these trials that last but a moment JOY! We are sinful by nature through the imputed sin of Adam. We have denied God in our flesh and Christ has saved His redeemed by His grace and mercy that we might live as models of Him, for His everlasting glory! We live through faith. But we get an assurance in this faith. Faith in Christ means trusting Him in the situations we face everyday, by taking every situation and turning it into a way to give Him more glory. We live by faith and we produce the fruit of the spirit in return by our faith.

10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

The reason we live and leave the temporal happiness of this world behind is for the powerful knowing of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. He completed the process of redemption through His resurrection. He defeated death by rising from the grave and taking the sting of death away for those who abide in Him. I wish to become like my Saviour and show His love in every action I take. I want to suffer as my Lord. I want to show compassion as my Lord. I want to be just as my Lord. I want to Love as my Lord.

11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

I will do whatever it take to abide in Christ. Why would I not? He died and resurrected for His elect. For the believers He chose out of pure mercy.

That is what I have to say. I'm not the best writer so that might be a little messy and unorganized. But its from the heart. :)

Romans 5:3 TNIV
Not only so, but we [ Or let us] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

Meaning: Even though we may be going through difficult times it all makes us better in the end. We just have to keep going in order to be even better in the end. I love this verse as it always keeps me going even when things are looking down, I just think of this and remember that life isn't always easy but I must persevere.
