Beyond Host (beyondhost.net) - SCAMMER

You should all be aware of beyondhost.net, a member at NamePros who is trying to sell things he's not supposed to be selling!

When I posted a thread in the For Sale / Advertising forum, I was looking for an IPB perpetual license, he approached me with an offer to give me an unlimited trial for free, I was interested, but I soon realized that it was illegal to receive this IPB unlimited trial from beyondhost.net, but I was curious to find out his real intentions.. So, I sent beyondhost.net a PM saying that I was interested in the unlimited trial and I told him to add me to MSN.

We talked, until we got to the point where he said he would sell the IPB unlimited trial for $35 or $45 (can't remember :D) and yes, he did get it for FREE and yes, it is illegal to sell an IPB trial..

He must've been out of his mind.. $35/$45 for an IPB trial? < EDITED > is all I have to say on that one...

He then sent the IPB trial to my e-mail and insisted that I pay the money, but I didn't pay, not even a cent, the IPB trial wasn't even complete.. conf_global.php file was empty and there were MANY missing files..

He has also approached PolurNET in his IPB thread with the same offer, but I'm sure PolurNET wouldn't have any interest in a puny trial :D

If beyondhost.net offers to sell you an IPB unlimited trial, use your common sense and tell him to < EDITED > The trial is FREE and according to IPB, you cannot sell it!

Shame on you, beyondhost.net for even trying to sell something that was obviously FREE...

he did get it for FREE and yes, it is illegal to sell an IPB trial..

as we talked on msn i have a proof of that conversation
i said got it from my friend for 10$
and then i said i am not selling you if it is illegal
then you force me to give me for 1$ or otherwise i will decrease your reputation

I'm sorry for the vulgarity, but the fact remains that this is a Warnings & Alerts sections for scams, etc. and you can't expect everyone to be "calm" and "happy" can you?

I instantly got offline? well, you know people do actually call me and i'm on a 56K connection so I can't be on for a solid amount of time and when I finished talking on the phone, I checked out the files and found alot of things missing and I can prove it.

Don't call me a cheater when YOU were the one that tried to ILLEGALY sell an IPB unlimited trial.

For your information, I shouldn't have to even pay a single cent for that considering it was free.

It is infact YOU who is the cheater in this situation. Man, you can't just get something free and expect to sell it for the amount you wanted, you can't expect everyone to be as dumb as you are.

So, wait, who's the scammer here? beyondhost.net's selling a script which is non-transferable, and Veolus received the script and unzipped it/opened it although he supposedly never intended to pay. I'm confused.

Well guys please read IPB terms here.

1) Your are not ment to pass on the files to anyone as this is deemed against thier terms.

2) If your silly enough to pay for it then you might aswell pay IPB for it legit.

Well, if you got it from your friend, that's illegal and why would you sink to your friends level, he was stupid enough to waste $10 for it and you say it's not free, just because someone was stupid enough to buy something that was free, doesn't mean it's not free as you say claim.

Have you ever heard of places like "The Planet"? You can actually rent dedicated servers online... If you don't know what a dedicated server is, there is a site called "Google" Have a look around, see if you can actually find something.

If someone posts a thread looking for a paid license, their not asking for your trial license. The fact that you tried to sell it to me for $45 just tells me how dumb you are The IPB yearly license is $70, and I must pay $45 for an unlimited trial? that's NOT even supposed to be sold.

I should get banned? :D Who's the one that tried to ILLEGALLY sell a trial, Who's the one that demanded money for the trial after it was sent for my examination? Who's the one that was DIDN'T bother reading the TOS at IPB? Who's the one that offered an IPB trial when it was CLEARLY stated that I was looking for a PERPETUAL license and not your trial?

You are both wrong IMO. Velous, if you knew it was wrong and illegal, why did you go through with it? Both of you can get in legal trouble from IPB. Please read the terms from the unlimited trial. It is now illegal to use it if you haven't had it since Sept 2004 or before. So in this case, i believe you are both guilty.

Well, it's just what I do to all people that think they can scam me, I play along and have my share of the fun. Why should I let someone try to scam me and ignore it and let them get away with it?

A lesson needs to be learnt!

I wouldn't see "kiss my ass" being unrpofessional nor vulgar, well, yes, it does sound a bit vulgar, but my post is not the typical scam post w/ profanity all over the place.

IMHO, that doesn't sound vulgar, what I would define as vulgar is "Tell him to **** off" now that IS vulgarity right there! When people say "Kiss my ass" it is often thought of as a joke and people are often joking around when they say that, it's not like I said "**** off bitch" or anything to that extent.

If you want to be taken seriously then act in a professional manner.
