Best Width For a Website

What width are you currently using when designing sites?

940px, 960px; 1600px?

I usualy create my page between 900 and 1024

I'm runnign with 960.gs, so it's 960px, it looks perfectly fit and clean if you design according to 960.gs :D

I whole heartedly agree with that! Their new design is just awful on 1024 x 768.

I always go for 960px. I'm not interested in people that still use a Commodore 64 to browse.

Nowadays 1024 screen width is quite common - 960 width is idea for me. I will keep it to a minimum so a visitor doesn’t have to keep scrolling left and right.

Yes, but people are now reading on many other devices besides screens such as iphones and webtv...I undersize it a bit to around 900 to give more flexibility...too wide is hard to read anyways.
