What is the best technique for indexing a new site in google?

I have been using social bookmarking with good success, but I was wondering what everyone else is doing.

Yes! as my experience, its submitting the URL and Sitemap both to google. The most fastest way is to direct contact with them.

the most fastest way to get indexed.... find a high PR site (PR >8) then defaced the site with your URL.... if you can't do that.. hire a hacker to deface it.. :hehe:

well, seriously, I used to post on slashdot comment as signature.. and it gets indexed pretty quick...
