The title says it all, what´s the best way ?

I thought about using snapnames.com to acquire the domain I´m looking for, but is that the best option ?

Thanks

Yes, I put an order for it at Snapnames and Pool.

Thanks, so when do I put the order ? Now or when the expiration date countdown has started ?

First it depends on the registrar and whether the name will drop.
Some registrars have agreements with snapnames for example, so expiring names will be available for auction there before they are dropped.
If you could post the registrar and the status this would help.

Lots of info available using the Search feature in the upper right as well. Backorder domain, Drop catcher etc. ;)

I believe it becomes an auction if there are more than one person to backorder, if you are the only one it´s yours.

What if someone put in a backorder at godaddy and snapname for the same name then it will be an auction right? How man people can put in a backorder for the same name at snapname.com?

Godaddy basically will not catch anything.

Now your biggest thing, is What Registrar is the domain with. That will tell you where you need to backorder the domain.

SnapNames = anybody can back order it. 1, 10, 100 etc.

Feel free to PM me the domain and I will help you out.

I believe backorders and dropcatchers are the way to go. Try avoid godaddy and they will not catch domains for you.

Then it will go to TDNAM.com first. If nobody bids on it, then it will go threw the normal drop process and at some point, become Pending Delete.

Check the Expire date of the domain you are asking about and compare it to an Expired Domain that is on auction at TDNAM. That will help if it ran threw TDNAM already or not.

The domains I´m interested in are registered at:

REGISTER.COM, INC.
and
NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.

Register.com = SnapNames.com

Network Solutions = NameJet.com

Is where you will want to back order them.

The best way is to buy it from the existing owner. Even backordering can't beat that!

Sorry, don't mean to hijack this thread... but I didn't want to create another one since I have more or less the same questions.

The domain I'm after apparently expired. It wasn't renewed by the owner.

Can someone tell me the best to get the domain eg. snap / pool / godaddy or whatever? Consider the details below and let me know which is the best to go with.

Here are the details:

Registrar: COMPUTER SERVICES LANGENBACH GMBH DBA JOKER.COM
Whois Server: whois.joker.com
Referral URL: http://www.joker.com
Name Server: NOT-RENEWED.JOKER.COM
Status: clientDeleteProhibited
Status: clientHold
Status: clientRenewProhibited
Status: clientTransferProhibited
Status: clientUpdateProhibited
Updated Date: 09-mar-2008
Creation Date: 07-mar-2000
Expiration Date: 07-mar-2009

By the way I tried to buy the domain directly from the owner 2-3 months ago. She declined my offer of $350, yet it looks like shes forgotten to renew it.

Anyway, anyone with any help/suggestions would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

I'm not sure if Joker have a DropCatch partner. so your best bet would to place backorders at all three NameJet/SnapNames/Pool. Good luck.
