Best Practices For Private Sales

Can someone point me to information about how to best execute a private sale of a domain name? I can't think of any way to guarantee both payment and transfer without using a third party. If a third party is the way to go, can you link me to some?

There isn't a way unless you sit down with a computer and sell for cash. A registrar account sale uses the registrar as a third party. Using multi-sigs in Bitcoin requires a trusted third party.

Been there....done that. Guy actually came to my office with $2500 and I pushed the domain while he waited. It was interesting. Even after the deal was done, the guy was crying poor man.

ive done multiple private sales through here NP after i put up a post in the domains wanted section and have paid for all my acquired domains this way via Paypal, its fast and paypal guarantees the buyer and is always in favor of the buyer, i never had a bad experience, Most!!! (not all but i haven't come across anyone yet) people on namepros want repeat business and good reviews and arent trying to scam you, paypal has been my way to go, like i said god forbid someone tries to screw you paypal will refund your money from the other persons account and you are guaranteed to get your money back, haven't had this problem, but i like paypal. I have used escrow through uniregistry as thats there method of payment its fine too, just takes wayyyyy longer.
