I have around 1000 pre registations for .eu with internet.bs
Anyone got a best estimate of % expected to succeed?
I'm calculating around 3-4%
Anymore more than this, then I will have to max out my CC!

Any guestimates?

I have a similar number pre-ordered and will be happy to get maybe 10-20 of them, will have to wait and see though.. We might be lucky and end up with an €11,000 credit card bill! :(

I think it totally depends on the registrar... obviously registrars that offer to pre-register for free are going to have massive lists to submit, which in turn would probably lessen the chances of getting the names. Just my opinion, could be wrong!

I've pre-registered around 350 names, and paid for all of them... but I still have no idea whether or not I'll even get 1% of them... :(

I feel like a kid going to sleep on Dec 24th wondering what'll be there the next day...

I paid for 30 pre-registrations at eurodns.com. If I get only 10 I will have 20 credits to spend on other .eu domains -- I haven't a clue what further domains I will order. But my problems is insignificant to having paid for 350.

I'm in the same boat, but I have a few back-up lists to submit if most (or hopefully not all) of the registrations are unsuccessful. The major fear is, once these lists have been exhausted, what use is this "credit" with the registrar if you can't get what's not there...! :td:

Ah well, time will tell I suppose... :)

I think .eu will be very popular but .com .org and .net will be top notch anyway

I'm hoping I can use the credit to add years of registration to the names I do get.

Smart idea, I'll have to ask my registrar if they'll do the same...

I'm kinda new to this forum here, how to do add a "rep" (is that reputation?) for someone if I'm happy with a thread and advice from another user...?

Cheers

Agree fully...but would add that one's success rate would also depend on the types of *names* that one pre-regs. Not a single Tier-1 domain is left after what I'd call the most corrupt sunrise periods in the history of domain industry. However, there're still plenty of good quality Tier-2 names....the names that would fetch one 4-5 figures in a couple of years if .EU is even half as successful as predicted. IMO, one's chances of successfully getting a name would be much higher if the pre-regged names are little bit off the beaten path and/or technical in nature based on a solid knowledge of a particular field/industry.

EEEK :yell: - That's a lot !

Ive registered 120 with Lycos.co.uk - So called - No payment unless they get the name, They have now changed their mind and want 25% upfront by today or they will cancell my order :td: And they are not willing to put it on my credit card ??? My phone calls are falling on deaf ears !

My sucess rate looks like it will be 0% thanks to Lycos.co.uk
- B&%$%$ds !!

But I wish everyone else the best of luck :) alot of people will be making some money off the .eu's IMO - I hope it is fellow NP'ers

Can anyone suggest a LATE OPTION of who else to reg .eu's with - Not paying upfront ?? (well established company)

.
