Why did you get the plural?? You had a good idea (I hadn't thought about .org) because I already have MANAToken(s) dot com, but you left the *preferred* singular available, so I registered it to be on the safe side (coins always use the singular).

I also have MANACasino(s) dot com because there are plans to build them. But I am still unsure of the value of these domains. A lot depends on if they give users of the platform to link to parts of Decentraland using URLs. If so I'm pretty confident these will have value if it becomes a popular VR sandbox, but my research hasn't pulled any clear answers yet.

The singular is what the coin organizations use. DogeCoin uses DogeCoin.com. Bitcoin uses Bitcoin.org. Litecoin uses Litecoin.org. Bitcoin just paid 50k for BitcoinCash.org after the fork. Dot org is what the coins prefer and they always use singular. Many of the plural dot org domains are still for sale or blank pages because the coins are satisfied with their singular domains.

The plural dot com has more potential because it can be used for a business. But plural dot org is almost useless.

we are talking about tokens

common usage for MANA tokens is the plural

"You can use MANA Tokens to purchase parcels of land, as well as buy digital goods and services within Decentraland."

That's how people also talk about bitcoins. But the name of the currency is bitcoin, which is why the org prefers it. Now a company launching an exchange or magazine or service might want a plural domain but on dot com, for obvious reasons.

Sony uses Playstation.com not Playstations.com, even though people may say "Playstations" when discussing gaming consoles. It's because Playstation is the name of the product. That's why coins only use the singular .

When will some people learn!

No worries. These decentraland domains may be a complete waste of money to be honest. I would not stress about this. I'm taking a pretty high risk bet here.

my domain names, my paypal account, my choice!

A wallet contains (hopefully) more than one instance of a token, so 'tokens' domains would be as valid as the singular 'wallet' domains.

Anyway, NativeToken .com

I couldn't agree more. But the question wasn't which is more valid. The issue was that he got the plural dot org when the orgs that run coins prefer the singular, because that is the name of the currency. This logic doesn't apply to everything because like for example an organization could choose Cows.org over Cow.org, but that's not been the case historically with cryptocurrencies (in absolutely every case) - something Corey would have known already if he had done his research. Live and learn.

I agree on the coin terminology, but what applies to blahcoin.org doesn't apply to blahtokens.org, since the blahcoin currency is made up of zillions of blahtokens.

And how would I have done that, genius? And why even. Can we stay on topic?

Your logic seems a bit subjective and not based on observation. I could be wrong but I believe that tokens are built on top of coins, not the other way around.

From what I have "observed", coins and tokens are built off the blockchain.

Tokens can be more complicated and have more features built in - they can even represent real-world assets based on the underlying blockchain.

Coins and tokens are cryptocurrencies. All cryptocurrency organizations use singular. Opinions don't mean anything. Don't argue with me, just *observe* the evidence. See a list of of the domains on dot org for cryptocurrencies and tell me how many are on plural domains. End of subject.

Now.... Moving right along unless you want to bicker about opinions, which I couldn't care less about.

It's worth noting that there has only been one token domain sale so all of this is completely unnecessary. Moving right along...

You seem to be changing the goalpost with every post of yours. If you're having a bad day, feel free not to give in to the urge to drag others down with you.

Been preaching the exact same thing since Corey showcased the domain. Where have you been?

OK, so I thought Corey was male and I disagree that there's value in plural cryptocurrency, dot org domains. .... Is that really reason to think that I'm having a bad day and dragging people down?

I'm not replying to you anymore about this topic, since you're apparently emotionally unfit to have someone disagree with you without feeling put down.

Ended...
