What do you think are the best contests to use to develop a forum or just help your users enjoy it?

Referral Contest is the best, but make it like this refer persons with at least 10 quality posts and you win this , and make varieties like 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, prizes can be real money, forum currency, domain, or hosting, or even t-shirts displaying your logo

There are lots of contests you could start on your forum, it all depends on the theme of your forum . You could start contests with prizes in cash or goods . Contests like refferals, advertising etc.

What do you mean by advertising?

and I have already started a referral contest for $25, $10, and $5 so I'm looking for somehting other than that.

By advertising i meant that you start a contest where people put links on their sites, other sites and so you are getting backlinks and traffic too and you give to the first 3 members who have the most links posted on their sites or other sites, prizes in money or other stuff .
