Hey,

I found a premium name that has expired but leaves its PENDING DELETE stage in 5 days, making it available for registration.

Should I backorder it? If so, where? Or just take my chances?

EDIT: I dun care if somebody else takes it really, my chances are slim:

I've had very good luck with Enom's Club Drop and SnapNames.

What it all boils down to however is which registrar the domain is with. Like certain drop catching services have 'agreements' with registrars so that if a domain drops from a certain registrar, one drop catcher has a 'supreme chance' of getting it.

Unfortunately I'm not sure which domain drop catchers work best with which registrars. :(
Maybe someone else here is.

^^ Ditto!

I've had approximately equal luck with SnapNames & Pool, IMHO. :gl:

Hi Matt,

If it is a good domain ( or even half decent ) then it is worth registering it with as many dropservices as you can ... This is what I do.

If I think it is a good name and want to register it then there will be a lot of others thinking the same, by registering it at as many sites as possible I increase my chances of being at least 'in the run' for it.

I get probably 75% of my domains through back ordering.

All the best

Richard

the problem with reg'in w/many services is sometimes you end up bidding against yourself ;)

PHPNuke is a popular open-source. If i were you id get it and maybe sell it on Sedo or park it. Maybe you can make it a phpnuke site earn some money. But thats just me.
