Let suppose company X has website X.com

If you do the whois on the site you find the contacts, and you see that they might be bad. And the phone numbers not working.


I want to contact them. Shouldn't someone verify the info they provide from time to time, to see if they are really the owners or not ?

What can be done ?

That's right. That's the responsibility of the registrant and/or admin contact.

It may appear easy, but I assure you it's not.

Whoever is listed as the registrant is the legal owner of the domain, no ifs,
ands, or buts.
