Beef.com what a waste...

i just went to beef.com and found a parking page. i would have thought the american beef industry would have bought this one a long time ago. it seems a real waste having a parking page on a $250,000+ domain.

i wonder what he wants for it?

he probably does well on ppc but it really could be so much better :imho:

It could be worse. He could have nothing up. I've seen plenty of top names without even a parked page on them. It's the difference between owning a cow consistently making milk and just owning a large jug of milk.

This is no different than buying any domain as an investment except the amount of dollars involved. It is exactly what most do here -- buy, park and wait to hopefully sell except with a name like this you can scratch the hopefully.

As an investment it is one hell of a better deal than putting 150K in the S&P 500 for 10 years. It could be that the tax consequences are less without development.

The key is long term investment with revenue generation a secondary concern. Also with the broadness of this term development could ultimately harm the value of the property.

Again I personally would like to see names like this developed but I understand the investment side.

Not everyone who buys domains is a developer, some are just investors who have used domains as another asset class another part of their portfolio. Why do I care if he develops BEEF.com? It will make the world a better place? NO, It will provide info on beef I cannot find anywhere else? NO, I never understand why people who are probably so big on privacy in and dealing with their own lives voice such concern what others are doing with theirs. Maybe your neighbor thinks your house should have a deck, do you care? Maybe theyknow what you do for a living and think you should drive a nicer car. Do you care?

And development? there are levels of development some think taking some content off the web and placing adsense is development it is not it is Parking2.0. IMO
