I have shown proofs to mods and Eric in a private message and after getting green signal I am starting this thread.
He is Kevin Macpherson .
I paid him 99Pounds for 5 domains as a broker, be careful with this guy I tell you, he is lazy(!!)in replying back, ignore your queries and finally in my case he came up with an offer to develop a mini site with his fees of $1500 per domain which I rejected, overall it was a bad experience and not a professional touch I found in this saga.
I know this is open forum, limiting my emotions and gave my personal views on him regarding his business style.
Next all yours.

Why give anyone money to broker names before they're sold?

My question exactly!
He said he will contact proposed buyer and help me by doing marketing. My fault I don't deny it but he took days when I asked him a draft letter which he was supposed to send to so called "Buyers". Bitter taste so I shared my experience here.

I did not pay him just for a simple for sale Tpl, he said he will contact buyers and when I asked for a draft and he took time replying back, I understood that what I had done by paying to him!
My Fault!! Wish others don't repeat what I did.

You should call him out here and ask him to refund fully because the domains was unsold, can't take that money.

I have contacted the OP and offered him a full refund. I deal with a lot of buyers and sellers and sometimes sales can't be agreed for clients names. I hope you manage to find success in selling your names elsewhere. Good luck :)

This happened with me in the month of May 2015.

I saw his video on DomainSherpa. I contacted him asking for his opinion on one of my domain. I asked him if I should put this domain for sale on Flippa Ultra premium listing. Remember, I did not contact him to Broker my domain. I just asked for his opinion.

Then, I received his reply that the domain is nice and he would like to broker it. He told me he would be placing a landing page and would start searching for potential buyers if I place an order right away. It was my fault that I thought he would be really searching for end users and so I placed the order which was about $98.

One month passed and I asked him if he found any end users. I told him if he can complete this deal for me, I would be placing another order for my other domains. For which he said he is also interested in the second domain and he wanted me to place another order for the second domain name.

I told him that my partner and I would the first domain to get sold before we can place another order with him.

After two months I asked him if he got any inquiries. For which he said his outreach team is still searching for end users and they have received only few low ball inquiries.

More than 7 Months passed, no inquiries, no sale. I asked a refund from him and the below was his reply to me. Please be noted, he didn't mention anything about Flippa when I first contacted him asking for his opinion.

Sometimes domains take a while to sell. I advised you not to pay the premium listing fee on Flippa as I didn't think it would attract any interest and reaching out to potential end users was a better method, as I wanted you to save money.

As a good will gesture, I'm happy to try and broker another one of your names free of charge. Which one would you like me to try?

Kind regards
Kevin

I become pretty much sure that he is just trying to pick money from people and trying to convince them that he will be brokering the domain for a good price. All he was doing was putting a landing page on domains.

I have told him to pay me as per exchange rates in May 2015, he is using current ex.rates which as we all know after Brexit gone down heavily, also told him to add interest for 1.5 years. Only then this look like a complaint heard in real sense.

Most people including me got influenced by these brokers with their success story videos on domainsherpa. Back then, I was pretty much new to domaining and the mistake was obvious. :|

I would just like to tell everybody, do not pay broker fees upfront. If you are using a broker, let the deal get completed first and then the broker can take his share.
In process, I am also sending updates to Eric and Michelle on this regularly.

I just received a partial payment. But never mind, I would take this as a lessons learnt.

I wish let us involve domainsherpa here as well, bring him here I say. I don't know his ID else would have pinged him to reply on this thread. I hate when he pick up museum items in his shows.
