The .co web address was assigned to Colombia by net regulator Icann but is now being run by a private firm.

Since being launched in July, the .co domain name has attracted nearly 600,000 registrations and is being seen as a challenger to .com.

.cm had no chance at a challenge but .co might. It might never overtake .com but we are a lazy society and I could see ppl preferring .co eventually. (Why not the same for .cm? 'co' is familiar while 'cm' really isn't.)

Agree with you, Randy. There's a huge difference between .cm and .co: .cm is a typo while .co has its own legs.
