You know, I'm starting to get frustrated with people in this industry. I've had two domain and one website deal go unanswered in the past week alone. It just truly frustrates me when you say you'll buy something (or make an offer knowing you'll be held to it) and simply ignore me once I try to contact you. I wouldn't even mind it nearly as much if the person said "look I don't want it anymore".

I've backed out of one domain deal in my life and it was because the guy didn't accept Paypal and I wasn't going to put a check in the mail for $4.00. I contacted him and explained the situation. Granted, he wasn't too happy, but he accepted it.

If you ever back out of a deal, just please tell the guy you don't want it anymore if he contacts you about it. Don't ignore him.

None of them were huge, but when you're as broke as I am right now they help. Let's just put it this way, these domains aren't $3-$4 domains.

Same thing happend to me, I hired someone for a job.. said it would be done in a week.. and now its been 4 weeks and he kept my money and never got it done. I had to file a complaint with paypal to get my refund :(

I know exactly how you feel, the client says they will buy it.. They avoid you for about a week or 2, you contact them back. But they never communicate with you ever again..

Yeah, I think if someone doesn't want to buy it, that's fine, that is their choice. The client should at least contact you back and simple say: "I change my mind on this domain." or "I don't have the funds to buy this domain anymore." or something similar at least.

I guess you just have to deal with these type of clients being a seller though. B-)

I have to say at least no money or goods were exchanged in these situations. I'd certainly be furious in that situation.

I suppose that it is something you have to deal with in the long run as LeKiz said. It's frustrating and it's not that hard to avoid. A simple PM/Email/etc. would have been more than enough. I understand when things change or something comes up.

I think that is just really lazy to just ignore the seller. It is just not the way to do things...

I know I've had a few PM's from members wanting/interested in my names saying they want to buy and then never hear from them again.

I dont forget and the next time these members try and deal with me I wont be as generous, I might even simply ignore them... time is $ and they dont deserve 1 cent worth as far as I'm concerned.

When someone says a name is sold and then backs out it can really put a damper on things, when someone says sold, I start shopping thinking that $ is in the bank...

here here, I agree with every word, although as yet I have never had a problem.

Yeah i hate those type of people that just simply run away from deals without any explanation whatsoever..

This happens to me on AfterNIC Bazaar all the time. Users win a $25 auction and sometimes I have to send 5 e-mails before they follow through with payment. It blows my productivity right out of the water! :'(

I've been lucky as well. Knock on wood.

Unfortunately, I now take a look at the buyers TR to gauge the "trustworthiness"
of the deal/person. >>> I know it's NOT the BEST system, but it can be an indicator.

Some people simply have no CLASS, no HONOUR, no SELF-REPSECT, no RESPECT
FOR OTHERS, and no CLASS (oh yeah, already mentioned that - it deserves a double
mention IMO)

There should be a CLEAR warning system for offenders. SECOND offense, you're GONE.

well problem is that there are simply so many places to sell....

Yes, there are so many places. I will say here at the NP community this has only happened onces, so it's 1/3 total.

Don't forget: You can always give people like this a negative trader rating here at NP. Would help others from being duped.

They'll run out of places eventually.

And, at least they would be out of here.

Then maybe they will go back to making people in the "brick and mortar" world miserable again.

Sorry for the rant, I just really dislike people without integrity. I mean if you haven't got that, what the h*ll have you got?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's much better. :gl:

Well, I'm not sure what's worst, a bad buyer or a bad seller. I've had my share of both ;). But now I've lowered my tolerance levels, if 'buyer' doesn't contact me after we've a deal, then I won't contact him either. I get this straight from the start, so they know that if I don't hear from them again within a reasonable timeframe (say 2-3 days), deal is off. Sometimes they come back inquiring for the domain, and I give them a higher quote, for a limited time only, 'valid only for the next 24 hours'. It usually works and keeps me from worrying too much ;). As for the negative ratings, I'd rather not use them, some times it just creates unnecesary resentment ;).

Crazy you are right, problem is not many respect domains as a business especially sales under $100. They think like whatever and kick me out of the forum I will open another account but it is not going to cost me money. Really stupid just email someone say I don'thave money anymore SHOW SOME CLASS. BUT JUST LIKE WITH ANY OTHER BUSINESS DON'T SPEND THE MONEY TIL YOU HAVE IT

I agree...personally I try to treat each sale the same. Granted, I will put more work and speed into a greater value sale, of course. (Who wouldn't.) I suppose that is probably the end issue. Most of these sales were for mid $xx and I guess unlike most of us here, people don't value business that is small to them - even when it may be larger to someone else.
