It depends on where the domain is currently registered at.

Why you say that?

Because some domain registers have agreements with the big drop companies which means they are far more likely to "catch" the name.

The names get passed from the register to the auction house - Netsol names go to NameJet first - GoDaddy names got to TDNam first etc

For instance - Snapnames will only win a netsol name if nobody has placed a backorder for it on NameJet.

There are a few acceptions to this.

What if the name that going to drop is register with godaddy and I set the backorder with godaddy will it still go to TDNam first?

As far as I know, Yes - maybe someone else can confirm that as I don't use TdNam anymore.

I stick to names dropping at Snapnames or NameJet.

Yes, only if no one bids on it as an expired will the backorder pick it up (this is before it goes to the $5 closeouts).

Nothing is set in stone and strange things happen. I have been placing a backorder with pool, namejet and snap names just to be sure.

If you are bidding on an expired at GoDaddy be prepared to watch as the auction ends. I've been sniped more times than not.

If it's regged at GoDaddy, it's almost 100% certain to be auctioned off at TDNAM if it's not renewed. I'd just wait for it to appear on TDNAM and outbid the person who already has the backorder on it.

That the problem I dont have enough money to out bid anybody for this domain name. What can I do to get this name?

Well how can you say that before knowing what it's going to sell for? The backorder placed on the domain at GoDaddy is the $10 initial opening bid at TDNAM. If nobody else bids on the domain, the backorderer will win the auction at $10 + renewal fee. So circa $20 total. So if you can't afford to pay more than that for a domain you want. You haven't ANY chances. The backorderer WILL get the domain for the minimum cost of $20.
