I have a domain name that has expired 2 days ago and need back (oversight of renewal) It cannot be renewed under same account, since it is in "expired mode"

Any suggestions ? Backorder thru regfly or snapnames or .... ?

Just email your registrar if you cant renew it through your account interface. Youve got at least 30 days, probably 60-90.

I would contact them first - I think you may still be able to get it back but they will charge you alot more - not much chance getting it in a drop.

It would'nt hurt to phone them IMO :) Good Luck

If you want my 2ยข regfly backorder is useless. Cheap but wasted money anyway.

Backorder service

So I should contact them or submit a support ticket?

RegFly PM sent.

Hope I can get it back since client is the one in trouble...and I will look bad since I host the site... although they dont get the idea that they own the domain and should make sure to renew it themselves. :td:

Great News!!

RegFly just informed me if you have an expired domain, there is usu. a 30-day grace period. I just got it back for $8.95 renewal fee... no probs here. Registerfly.com rules !!!

It's nice to hear somebody say something good about a registrar for a change. Glad to hear you got your domain name back.

Registerfly doesn't rule.

I watched $40 "fly" out the window when I used them to backorder two domains a while ago. They couldn't even capture a domain that dropped with no other drop service competing for it.

Has anyone ever heard about anyone ever getting a decent domain before using their service?

By the way, I wouldn't say that they rule anything simply because they allowed you to renew a domain that had not passed the 30 day expiration date. I think all registrars will do this for their customers.

To give you an idea of how "powerful" their backorder system is:
I was monitoring a name which was due to expire. Name dropped. Checking status using regfly: name is available. Thought I would "trigger" the backorder this way. Nope. I finally registered the name manually... using regfly.
