Hi there,

I am watching a pretty good domain which is about to expire. This domain is regged at Godaddy. I have purchased a Godaddy backorder for this domain.

Will this ensure a successful catch or is Godaddy going to put it on auction as soon it has expired?

Thanks.

Godaddy usually puts a domain on auction at Tdnam during the redemption period. The current registered owner can take it back at any time during this period. One I was bidding on was taken back with only 2 hrs to go!!!

Yep it does....The advice I was given by other members was to just watch the domain on Tdnam and see if it gets any bids or not. leave your own bid till as late as possible. If the current owner sees there is some good bidding going on then they are likely to think it is worth re-regging and take it back.

Thanks Len.

They would be crazy to let this domain go. Hopefully no one watches as it expires. Wishful thinking. :hehe:

GoDaddy backordering is pointless for GoDaddy (or WW) registered domains; they'll just end up at TDNAM despite any backorders :( Just make sure you win it at TDNAM and then wish for the best!

If you have a backorder, remove it now before it becomes the first bid on the auction... Watch TDNAM daily to see if your domain has been added... once it has, watch it carefully and wait until the last 3 minutes to place a bid.

You may spark some competition, but its better than bidding on it from the start and letting every domainers in the world see your treasure...

Now... another option exists... Call the registrant owner and offer to buy it, pay the redemption fee for them and not deal with the auction at all... Your call.. Good luck... let us know what happens.
