Hi,

A have a domain name registered on March, 2003. It has had a website during 2004 and 2005, but this website went offline on Dec, 2005.

Tha website hasn't had high PR, but the whole site was indexed by Google, although I had just a few backlinks.

Now, I want to make another website with this domain name. I added a 'Coming soon' default page 3 weeks ago, and Google indexed this 'coming soon' page quickly - although right now, the domain has no backlinks.

My question is: if I put new content in this domain, will Google recognize it as an old site with trustrank? will I have any additional advantage by putting content in this domain instead of buying a new domain? (eg. avoiding the aging filter - also known as 'sandbox')

Thanks for your help!!
Pablo.

your fine. i would definetly use the older domain instead of a new domain in terms of an seo benefit.

Thanks Joe!
The old domain has no backlinks since Dec, 2004 - as it's been empty since that date. Does it matter?
I will start linking the domain right now..

the benefit, in terms of google, would be what is called "Domain Name Aging". Your older domain would obviously score higher in that regards. With the newer domain, which has already established traffic and links, perform a 301 redirect to the old domain with the new content.
