RE: Autonomous & Driverless car domains

Seems like there's a lot of news lately, as recently as the last few days, of advances in driverless & autonomous cars. There are multiple auto makers getting ready to launch some form of these cars, and of course, Google is working on their project car.

I have a handful of domains related to this news & technology, and I am wondering if anybody else has any? Also, any spike in traffic to your domains, or news of sales???

Michigan just became the first state to pass comprehensive self-driving regulations

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder signed four bills into law on Friday that would create the first comprehensive statewide self-driving regulations in the U.S.

The bills, introduced in the state Senate in May, effectively amend the existing Michigan Motor Vehicle requirements as well as another law that, until today, barred automated driving in the state.

Generally speaking, it’s good that the home of the country’s auto industry is now allowing for not just the testing but also the deployment of on-demand networks of self-driving cars and eventually the sale of autonomous cars.

UM launches autonomous shuttle at Mcity test facility

The University of Michigan on Friday began testing of self-driving passenger shuttle at its autonomous vehicle testing site Mcity. The automated shuttle could one day be deployed on public roads.

The 15-passenger, all-electric shuttle — called Arma — for the time being will provide fully automated tours of the 32-acre self-driving vehicle testing course on the North Campus of the university. It will support research and allow students a chance to learn from the vehicle.

There is definitely a potential for the shuttle to move on-campus to move students, Carrie Morton, UM Mobility Transformation Center deputy director, said during a media event Friday at Mcity: “This vehicle was designed for a campus environment.”

The $250,000 shuttle is produced by French tech company Navya, which supplied the vehicle as part of a new partnership with the university and testing ground.

that is so cool! I have some selfdriving.newgtld too good news! I think google is buying these for a future change in their algorithm, to give more weight onto EMD again, and also consider the extension more. I am seeing many of their domains accusations point to this. in other words, a search for "self driving car" will have outrank selfdrivingcar.com, because it is more exact (without .com ending). Google is self serving, and like this they can say they have 'legitimate reason' why their sites are ranking #1 all the time.

Taken the fact that Self-driving is the correct spelling, I am sure the future is looking bright for hyphenated .coms like Self-driving + KW.
Google seems to think so too, as they own:

BMW’s standalone driverless team working on autonomous vehicle for 2021 launch

BMW will introduce a fully autonomous vehicle in 2021, building on the technologies of the current 7 and 5 Series vehicles that now offer semi-autonomous driving features.

Speaking to CarAdvice at the international launch of the new 5 Series, the head of the model’s project, Jochan Kistler, admitted that the current cars on offer do not have the capacity to offer fully autonomous driving, with the bottleneck being the mapping data and software development.

“We work on it so we can build an autonomous car in 2021. It needs a few steps and of course, I think it’s necessary to have high-quality maps. Without high-quality maps [it’s not possible]” Kistler said.


Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz recently purchased Nokia’s Here mapping system together, with the three German brands all utilising the data for their navigation and autonomous driving technologies.

“We have to do it all over the world – it’s not possible to have it in Sydney and nowhere else [for example]. We have a joint venture. Nokia Here, the map is basic, and so we decided to do this with competitors. So you have to do it all over the world, not only in big cities,” he said.
