Hi all,
I found a firefox extension that can be run both in firefox, or by command line to screenshot a website and save it to file, or server even automatically.
You can easily run a batch file to create thumbs of a large number of websites, however it is kind of resource-heavy on your system.
Another use: I found it useful when adding images to my sites: The extension allows you to select a portion, or the whole screen and will automatically upload it via ftp to a destination of your choice.
The documentation is also pretty good, so you can get started quickly.

Granted it's not a server-side thumbnail creator, but i thought some people might find it useful
