Any NP members authors, or author wannabees? My reason for asking is that a friend of mine and I are planning to write a book titled "Rich Jew, Poor Jew", the idea for which came from "Rich Man, Poor Man" by Irwin Shaw.

Not so surprising the domain RichJewPoorJew.com was available to register, but it reminded me of a domain I registered a while back, BooktitleDomains.com.

While I don't know if it's a niche worth exploring, but three friends are authors and between them they've written and published 8 books, 4 of which have an exact match domain using the .com, and one has an exact match domain using .org

Just one of my author friends has a domain for his book "Second Eden", but because the exact match .com was taken he chose to use a dash in order to have a website for his book.

Regardless, with over a million books written and published every year does anyone think this is a niche worth exploring?

Do any of you own domains that would make for excellent book titles? I know I do, but until now I just didn't realize it. Care to share?

Thoughts anyone? Thanks

I think you could come up with a lot better title for a book than that.

Not to mention the Rich _____ , Poor _______ thing has has already been done many times.

It's not unique. It's just derivative.

Things that would make good book titles are likely already registered as domains.

For instance, "Second Eden" is a decent brand. It is not surprising it was taken and the author had to settle for some inferior option.

Regardless, with over a million books written and published every year does anyone think this is a niche worth exploring?

Book titles are just one of many possible end users. Chasing domains because they are book titles, without other end users, is kind of silly. You need a large pool of potential buyers to make consistent sales.

You might want to acquire UnusualBooks.com. As you paruse various book titles you might come across some unusual books or at the very least unusual titles like "A Weasel in My Meat Safe" by Phil Drabbel. You could share some of the unusual books on a blog, perhaps with an Amazon affiliate link to acquire the book. :)
