Last night I ignored the urge to register SpaceShipThree.com , and today the .com .net .org and .whatnot is all taken.

Today I decided to redeem myself and find another good dn investment. After a bit of investigation I discovered the huge potential of Augmented Reality: Google Trends: augmented reality . The estimated AR market size in 2014 is $732,000,000 , especially in AR marketing.

I think adverts and billboards shown as augmented reality on mobiles will become simply huge, and so I decided to get a piece of the pie, all new .com registrations:

ar+
advert
adverts
billboard
billboards
registrar

There are still a lot of possibilities available, so I thought I'd share this so you can also get a piece of the action :santa:

Purchased my first AR name, since the huge success of Pokemon Go. I saw AR dot Casino was available, then secured the .com version.

I imagine casino games will be just as big in AR as VR, e.g. turning your living room into a mini casino (with slot machines, roulette table, poker table, big wheel, etc.) or even playing a casino game whilst waiting at the bus stop (whilst still being able to see the world around you, unlike in VR), or in a car or plane journey turning the back of a chair into a slot machine whilst still being able to look out of the window now and again, or just about anywhere...

Also there is a way to develop websites for AR, so this could be an option:

Nice!

Are casinos using the .casino TLD? Not gambling so I have no idea. 118 dollar each year is alot!
Thanks for answer

I figure Casino.com sold for $5.5M in 2003, today is worth $25-$50M (possibly more), and OnlineCasino.com is in the millions, the future is AR (and VR) so must also be very valuable or will be in the near future. .casino is expensive, however it's a lucrative industry (as is AR) and is a short LL, so worth it. Thanks!

Soon, hundreds of millions of mobile users in China will have direct access to an augmented reality smartphone platform on their smartphones.

Baidu, China’s largest search engine, unveiled an AR platform today called DuSee that will allow China’s mobile users the opportunity to test out smartphone augmented reality on their existing devices. The company also detailed that they plan to integrate the technology directly into their flagship apps, including the highly popular Mobile Baidu search app.

“DuSee will enable our customers to deliver a delightful real-time AR experience to the millions of people who use Baidu‘s mobile apps every day, thus quickly bringing AR to a huge population,” Zeng Hua, Baidu’s Key Account Department Senior Director said in a statement.

A press release from the company seemed to vaguely reference the successes of the type of AR made popular by apps like Pokemon GO, a title that has still yet to be released in China.

The Future of Augmented Reality and Online Shopping

The rapid evolution of e-commerce has created a new sales channel for retailers that is giving brick and mortar stores a run for their money. Not only has e-commerce been profitable for business but also convenient and pleasing for consumers.

Despite the opportunity intrinsic to online retail and shopping, there are also some daunting challenges that companies must overcome in order to successfully sell online.

The primary drawback to online shopping is that many of the sensory elements that customers use to make their purchasing decisions are often lost. When shopping online, a customer cannot touch or feel an item, see how it works, or know how it will fit in their home or life. The loss of this interactivity and presence in the shopping experience leads to uncertain buyers and more abandoned carts.

Additionally, shopping online inevitably involves a bit of guesswork from a consumer, which can lead to unsatisfied customers and company loss through increased return rates. In fact, according to research conducted by the National Retail Federation, merchandise returns in the U.S. represent nearly $16 billion of the retail market.

Fortunately, as e-commerce has morphed, technology has also grown and advanced to help overcome the challenges an online retail experience can present for many consumers. As the future of e-commerce continues to shape, Augmented reality (AR) will have a huge impact in how customers buy products online.

Virtual and augmented reality for eCommerce? It’s closer than you think

Those who haven’t been following the latest developments in the field of virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR, respectively) may not realize just how close it is to becoming an asset for the eCommerce industry. For example, with augmented reality a user can visualize on the screen of their smartphone or tablet how the product will look like in their apartment. So far one of the biggest problems with this technology has been the necessity to print a special AR marker that needed to be placed wherever you wanted the product to be visualized.
But now, with solutions such as Cimagine, it’s no longer required.
See what this product can do for you in the video below – truly amazing.

According to Digi-Capital, the AR/VR market will have reached revenues of $150 billion by 2020 with AR accounting for $120 billion of the sum. Interested in jumping on the bandwagon?

To do:

  • This year: Implement an AR solution on your website. Try A/B testing. Test if the same product displayed with AR capability converts better.

Very first grab. Live with AR at the end in king.

Little update on this. I was contacted by someone very high up in Alibaba about it, quoted a price and they vanished. Got a few lowball offers via whois and 1 price request via afternic. I quoted 40k, I previously quoted Ali 25k.

I know some would argue, be reasonable and take a ROI and move on, but in this case, every possible combination in king of this name is locked down or in use, dashes, augmented reality, it's all gone.

Other TLDs are still available if anyone is interested.

Had the domain less than a month and already received about 6 inquiries in total.

I'm quietly confident on AR. Sure, it could be worth $0 in 5 years time, but that's a risk I'm more than happy to take.
