registrars AuDA considers releasing the .AU extension

This might be well-known among NP, but I've just stumbled upon some news in the land of OZ that I think is very interesting.

It appears that some .com.au, .net.au, etc. domain investors are concerned about a proposed direct .au domain extension being deliberated by the Policy Review Panel ("PRP") of the auDA.
