I've always hand reged domains to build websites on (and never built them!). I now want to buy more profitable domains and sell them on. I tried bidding on flippa auctions, but even if I won, I kept getting messages such as the seller decided not to sell it! I didnt think that was fair or how auctions worked and was very confused so dont look on there now.

I have been bidding on namesilo auctions for the first time. One I won but didnt get the domain as I didnt hit the reserve (i dont understand why people dont just use that price as a starting price?) and the other, the registrant renewed the domain with 1 minute to go in the auction. It seemed a bit strange it would be renewed with only one minute to go. Is this a usual thing?
