6 months with no sales on Atom. Should I stick with it or switch back to afternic?

I prefer Atom, and I've had more sales through Atom even though all my domains are listed on Afternic and Sedo as well. With Atom you can also list through Afternic and auto-syndicate to Sedo which saves a lot of hassle.

If your domain doesn't sell with an Atom lander then it's not going to sell anywhere else either. Either the buyer wants the domain or they don't. And they can still go to Godaddy and buy the domain.

Plus you get Retargeting ads, contest submissions and Atom brokers are as good as any.

At the end of the day, if your domain sucks, it doesn't really matter.

If ya can't decide run 50/50 for at least 2-3 months and see what ya think after that. They would be good ones to test against each other as both offer payment plans which can help with today's economy.

But be sure you go 50/50 on nameservers too, as most leads come from type-ins.

People are always looking for some 'secret sauce' to sell their domains better ('what lander are you using?'), but it's a fool's game. These are luxury digital properties, not hamburgers or donuts, and thus follow different rules.

What you need to do is find a domain marketplace or venue that gives you the proper tools to succeed and has business processes that fit your individual needs, and with good domains in your portfolio, you will likely be successful.

THIS is the key.

But the marketplace is important too, as its features and business processes must match with how you do business, otherwise you be spinning your wheels.

i.e. my experiences at sending traffic to Sedo, Dan, Afternic and Atom resulted in much different sales patterns, all with the same domains. For me, it's clear that Dan and Atom match up closely with how I do business.

I totally agree that the marketplace makes a difference. But the marketplace is also irrelevant if you have rubbish domains. I think all newbies should focus on learning what makes a good domain as their first priority.

I agree that way too many people are looking for that 'secret sauce' to help sell their turds, when you need both quality, saleable domains and a marketplace that enhances your ability to sell.

When someone posts a nice sale and the response is "What lander did you use?", a domain angel loses his wings.

For myself I do both depending on the type of name. Brandables with less traffic usually end up at Atom.com. Geos , 2 & 3 word generics , and other keyword domains tend to be at Afternic.com. No hard and fast rules though. Whatever seems a better fit for those sites. Still send some to Sedo as well, especially domains which may have more appeal to European and other overseas markets. Best of luck, whatever you decide.
my thinking exactly

Here’s a casual yet engaging reply you can use:

"I think these sales really show how valuable premium domains can be! It’s inspiring to see such high numbers—definitely motivates me to keep hunting for gems like these. What’s your take on the current market trends?"

We all know how to use ChatGPT, but this is totally irrelevant to the OP's question.
