.at - What do you think about this extentions?

What do you think about .at? It belongs to Austria. There has actually been some nice sales of this extention & quite a number of sale as well.

Better than most of the obscure Pacific/Caribbean islands as Austria actually has more than 100 people living in it and actually use it too.
Also with 'at' being an English word there's obviously some potential for domain hacks.
I don't think you'll find many decent German words left.

EuroDNS.com were doing them for 4 EURO each last July. Sold one of my 4 EURO purchases for 150 EURO (it was an English domain too).

If you buy, try some European registrars as some US ones charge really high prices.

EuroDNS has them for 24.00 € - I presume that symbol is Euros, correct?

I've seen Moniker has them for $21. Are any of the European ones well known, reputable & cheaper than Moniker?

The €4 EuroDNS prce was a special offer so that's where all mine are regged.

$21 is a good price (about €16?)

For example, netstorage.at does .at for €12, but if I was in your situation, for €4 difference I'd stick with what I know and go with Moniker. (And fair play to them for not charging an OTT amount like some of the others).

Domainname.at had them for 4 euros as well, now they are at 49, so i used Moniker as well.

I love my .AT domains. They get better natural traffic/clicks than any other ccTLD I own.

The problem now is that I have 30+ .AT domains expiring, and looking for a better deal than EuroDNS. I know Moniker is solid, but has anybody used that netstorage.at company?

There have been 5 .at sales reported already this year in the DNJournal, last year a total of 15 were reported. The top sales of Restaurant.at and Restaurants.at last year for $9,104 and $9,085 respectively, these are impressive sales to say the least. This years top sale is VitalHotel.at for $5,017.

Like many ccTLD's the .at suffix is overshadowed by a larger more dominant suffix, in this case not only .com (of course) but also the German suffix, .de (the second most registered suffix). Having said this it is apparent that this is a much upwardly mobile suffix, many German words now having been registered. However, many English words have also been registered, and like Restaurant/s.at these can be used in both German and English being common to both. Also many English hacked domain names have been registered (I do not know about German hacked domain names).

All in all this is one of the ccTLD's that will, in my opinion, grow to useful fruition internationally and not be restrained to use as simply 'national' usage.

But I've found a great deal on .AT renewals/transfers, and am currently trying to get a bulk discount from the registrar for NP members. I will post details on this tomorrow.

There's a lot of folks who registered .AT domains a year ago during the previous EuroDNS special, but are now getting hit with their high 24 EURO renewal fees.
