Link popularity is a general representation of the total number of web pages which link to a website.

Good link popularity can dramatically increase traffic to your web site. Well placed links are an excellent source of consistent and targeted traffic. And due to recent developments, they can even generate additional search engine traffic to your site.
The Link Popularity analysis script will query Google, MSN, Yahoo!, AltaVista, AlltheWeb, HotBot and Netscape to determine how many pages are linking to your web page.
For major search engines it will also show the number of web pages indexed and determine position for Alexa traffic ranking service. Also checks if website is listed in Google's DMOZ directory.
