Aside from development what can domainers do to promote .US
Domainers can play an important part in making the public more familiar with .US through off-line and old fashioned advertising. They can send flyers or emails to all the members of the Chamber of Commerce or other business organizations and industry associations in their town to let those people know about this extension or If they have the budget they might consider putting small advertisements in their local newspapers or specialty trade magazines to give more exposure to .US . They can also send flyers to key personnel at major establishments in their town and ask them to hang those in their bulletin boards in high traffic areas. Those domainers who are serious fans might consider making some stickers, buttons, or magnetic signs with .US on them and pass them around to people in their town. Of course all these things could be done much easier and more systematically if everyone donates towards establishing a .US Owners Association, but until then domainers can still keep busy by doing their part.
Please note: A permit might be required for passing around flyers and promotional items, make sure to obtain permission in advance in order to not intrude on anyone. You might also need to get permission for using any copyrighted or trademarked material like certain logos.
