Uh huh. Who's portfolio is this "guide" based on, exactly? Oh wait..

Cause you're nuts if you think the majority of domainers have domains that businesses will value more over their rent, electricity, signs or garbage removal. There is necessity vs necessity. Yes the right domain is a necessity, but paying 5 figures may not be. We are talking digital assets here, lets not forget. So don't kid yourselves.

If we all were to price our domains like they are the bomb, then none of them are the bomb.

It is usually only the high-calibre names that will command the big bucks. Occasionally you get a funny one, but generally domain pricing is not a one size fits all. And as it should be. I don't think Joe's Deli has 40k to spend on Deli.com, or even 4k, rather give him (keyword)Deli or Deli(keyword) or Deli.gTLD or the likes for a couple grand, and make the sale, or sit on a name that never sells because the one person that would have bought it didn't. Because they had to pay for their electricity to keep their store open.
