Are EMD's in .com likely to penalize your SEM/Ranking if your primary IP is a ccTLD, and you're using a localised strategy?

    An example would be:

    LondonAquaticCoach.co.uk

And Let's say the EMD is a popular, nation wide, government funded program titled this:

    LearnToSwimNationally.com

Would this EMD penalize my primary website's domain name (which is a ccTLD, - .co.uk) considering I'm focusing on SEM, adopting a localised strategy (E.G. London?)

Also, would I be penalized for mentioning the EMD's words on the page that it's assigned (Homepage,) given the popularity of the program, nationwide, with possibly every aquatic centre website in the United Kingdom using the words in the EMD above?

I understand that it would be effective to list the scope of swimming coaching (First time swimmers, Competitive swimming coaching etc,) but should this be on the same page as the EMD?

Also, links to say lifesavers looking to get involved, so their registered training organisation in the local area, will this be of benefit and what page should they be on (the training organisation is connected with the EMD government initiative.)

    These ones are stumping me.

    HI,
OK - going to try and see if I can make sense in a short response to a question - that has the potential to lead to a very complex strategy/answer.

But, think about it like this.

The EMD domain will help you capture "natural" traffic or "type in" traffic. The EMD will have a certain # of visits, simply by the nature of it being the "exact match" of a hopefully common search.

Now that type in is coming if you park it or develop it - think of it as (free) paid ads that just come with an EMD. If you name was not the EMD & you wanted that traffic you would have to pay for it through Ads on one or several platforms

    &/or

SEO & Marketing efforts to drive traffic

You can use your EMD to support SEO, drive traffic, & limit marketing costs OR you can use SEO, time, & $ to rank anything you want to any domain name.

    Make sense?

So will it assist the ccTLD with local visibility if I were to use it as a subdomain?

Can I mention the EMD words on the page that it will be subdomain? Or will Google penalize me?

Can I use hypertexts to link to organisations associated with the EMD initiative?

What can I do to maximize the use, like meeting an efficiency frontier, and ultimately avoid penalty with regards to use?

To maximize SEO should I list what's being coached (to support my primary domain, and make effective use of the EMD on the assigned page (EMD subdomain leads to primary domain homepage.)

    Etc..

Not sure I understand your question, but if you are looking to map out an SEO strategy - it's more comprehensive than you may be expecting.

Subdomain? how are you planning on ranking this. Sometimes a subdomain is used to rank a product of service that is related to the (SEO strategy) of the main site.

e.g. my favorite animal/dog/subdogtype/nitch within that space... Lots of keyword research, SEO, G-Analytics set ups etc.

then -Sub Domain/book - and you are selling a book with all SEO, linking, etc tied back to you main site.

If you are trying to use a sub domain to rank a completely different keyword/etc.. you getting yourself into a mess.

P.S. you dont need to share any details on the name - the concept is the same.

I think I know how to best use this EMD in this situation, regarding SEO/SEM, but I am curious of most effective methods.

Also - what is it that you are worried about Google penalizing you for?

Is your site indexed with G yet? if not they dont even know you exist.

    For overuse of the words:
    - Learn To Swim Nationally (which is the TLD that is national government EMD, that will be subdomain for ccTLD homepage. Like, I imagine I'll be penalized if I do this:
https://www.LondonAquaCoaching.co.uk/Learn-To-Swim-Nationally... And the subdomain being LearnToSwimNationally.com... You see, EMD's aren't what they used to be. I have to be careful here, no?)
    - For strengthening SEO:
Hypertexts leading to organisations that the EMD subdomain is associated with...)
    - I am using EMD
For ranking different, highly competitive, Nationally used text on competition websites, but locally, so I shouldn't be penalized. In fact, if I don't overdo it, the EMD should strengthen visibility locally?

Also, would it help to discuss the 'Aquatic Centre' coaching services such as Competitive Swimming, First Swim etc? This way I will strengthen the primary domain name, improving local visibility for searches that the EMD strongly related too/keywords.

The above domain's are purely examples.
