I remember playing them a few years ago and it was reasonable. Now it seems like there are too many bidders and too high prices. It seems like the prices are now unrealistic for resellers.

I think something is up with that particular auction. I was monitoring it also.

That seems way to high for that domain
d u m b i c a dot com available

Sometimes, it makes me happy to see a name go for higher than I was willing to pay because it helps me let it go.

It's the daily blogs that list expiring/aftermarket auctions that are driving up the prices more than anything.

Google Smartica -- it looks like it's somewhat of a multi-national lender currently utilizing ccTLDs. I, too, thought something was up with that auction until Googling.

Always advisable to research names well to see who the potential bidders/buyers are. Sometimes its possible to know who is or could be after a name sometimes not. But it is always good to know. Helps a lot in pricing

And...?
That automatically means they will pay more than XX,XXX to get the domain? A lot of large companies will not pay more than XX for a domain. If they really wanted it they can UDRP for a fraction of that auction sale.

And there we have it.

Fastpark.net

12,346 spent on a typosquat just to park it. Company has no interest. .net wasn't taken until the auction happened by another speculator.

OR a scam auction where it is bid up and then renewed. Hoping that the scam price is indexed to so it will boost the resale.
