Ar one word .org and .net domains worth anything any more?

Ok, so I'm not talking about computers.net or the likes, but I'm also not talking about Grandiloquent.org types of domains.

Are decent one word .net and .org domains worth buying?

Eg. "unscathed.org" or "Infantile.org"

I have found many of these type of domains available and of course many that I have found are actually better than those. I don't want to give away all my secrets!

So I'm a little bit low on money (who isn't :p) and I don't want to be throwing my money away on worthless domains I'll never sell.

I'm not looking for $xxxx! I would be ecstatic to make a simple $xxx sale or a few mid $xx sales. I just want to get my foot in the door and wonder if this is the way to go.

It's no surprise that you can find better available names than unscathed.org and infantile.org. Those aren't in the same zip code as 'decent'. Raise your standards and keep hunting. Good luck!

Okay well obviously I'm not going to freshly register something like fishing.net - I'm not looking for that premium of a domain.

To ecalc: Yeah, those were definitely on "the bottom of the pile" as I was a little apprehensive about giving a good one away. Thanks for your input!

I would bet my dollars on dot org more than dot net. Also depending. The ones you mentioned have absolutely no value. For example I was searching for names like refugees in Spanish. Meaning refugiados. My thinking was that those dot org names like that will not be ever old and there can always be a demand for dot org names that are general even with the new tlds hitting the markets in the next years. I thought lawyers can use it, NGO and gov institutions can use it etc. So I found out dot com and dot net in refugiados were taken For the life of me I couldnt understand why dot org wasn't taken.
Long story short those are the names in dot org I would go for Timeless ones I promise you a classic name like that will never get old. And I wasn't able to register that name bc by the time I got my notebook and my pen to write down the stats and double cross my findindings THE DOMAIN WAS GONE couple months ago.

I personally don't see a lot of end-user demand for anything other than .com. About 10% of my portfolio are other than .com. I have never had an offer for anything other than my .com domains. I get offers daily for my .com domains. I would be extremely cautious in buying anything other than .com domains. I think you would get better turnover with even two word .com domains.
