Motivate.pro would be a perfect name for a company that provides motivational speakers or for somebody like Tim Robbins who writes motivational books.

Alert.pro would be good for a professional updates site relating to rules and regulations. Hydro.pro is a neat brand for a company doing something with water, the double "o" is snappy. Copier.pro is good for photocopiers.

Value wise, it´s difficult to say, they are niche keywords so you´d probably have to direct market them, you wouldn´t be able to sell them to a domainer at the moment so wholesale value would be $nil.

I don't trust much in these "new" generic extensions.
But yes, maybe Motivate.pro is the best.

Not much value over reg fee, IMHO, but i repeat, i just don't trust in .pro extension.

Why don't you trust .pro? Surely an extension with no spamming, phishing or porn with sites run be verified professionals is more trustworthy?

Yes, just for this reason i suppose .pro domains should be targeted names and not generic words, even if, as i've told, Motivate.pro or Copier.pro could have some value.

What i mean is you can't use .pro extension as other generic ones.

Well, obviously with end-users everything is different.
I can sell fgdiodsdsiisdosdkh.com for $x,xxx if i find the right end-user ;) ehhehe.

Anyway, TechZone's domains has some value, but don't expect high priced sales (if you don't find the right end-user!)

I was making an ironic example.
.pro domains are not for domainers but only for end-users? All the domains we register are for end-users and not for domainers/resellers, because we try to earn as much as possible from them. But for every end-user there are 10 domainers/resellers, so... in my honest opinion .pro value is not high, especially for generic words not very inherent to .pro intents.

Try to think: if you register an important spanish word in .fr extension, does it worth much?

.pro is a great extension for Business Keyword...
If I register GoToLA.PRO I'm wasting money, it's stupid...
But...

Alert.Pro is a great domain for Uptime Monitoring Services (Like pingdom.com)

Am first to admit i know nothing about .pro so went looking for independent verification of sales. DNjournal lists 2 sales for 07

video.pro $35,000
movie.pro $22,000

Funny though
EnCirca.com video.pro - domain IS EXPIRED!

movie.pro also regged to EnCirca doesnt resolve

In short, seems like the sales never went through?
Anyone know of an independent valuation/sales of .pro domains?

I really like Copier and Appraise. For me Motivation.pro have a better ring than motivate even though it's longer. Same with Appraisal.

Still, we need to get developing guys. I think this will be key.

Those sales did go through, but something happened to the owner that hasn't been explained. He also bought video.us for $75K and let that drop.

If you check out namebio.com, you'll find other sales in 07, though the list is only the ones that were publicly reported - I know of several other private sales.

exam.pro $250 2007-10-27sedo.com
profile.pro $200 2007-10-16 afternic.com
solo.pro $350 2007-03-30 Sedo
streaming.pro $18,000 2007-03-21 AfterNic
stream.pro $11,000 2007-03-21 AfterNic
movie.pro $22,000 2007-03-21 AfterNic
video.pro $35,000 2007-03-21 AfterNic
help.pro $210 2007-03-16 Sedo
tennis.pro $410 2007-03-16 Sedo
foto.pro $6,100 2007-02-21 Sedo
play.pro $1,272 2007-02-16 Sedo
photography.pro $2,210 2007-01-21 Sedo

Genuine 2008 sales include Book.pro $3,000, Guide.pro $3,000 and Chef.pro $3,650. Video.pro and Movie.pro remain a mystery. Presumably, people do die, suffer a life threatening illness, or go to prison (for crimes against domaining) after forking out $75,000 for something like video.us but I'm not convinced by alot of big sales.

Many thanks for the nice words on the .Pro names that I had asked for appraisals on. Quick couple of questions for ZURIKO. Who, where, and how did you sell those .Pro names that you had?? I would like to also sell what I have as well.

Many thanks again!

Zuriko picked up some nice .pro domains in 2007, I think it would be difficult to replicate his success with the .pro keywords still unregged. However, he does put in a heck of a lot of effort and that´s half the battle.

I think the .pros Zuriko sold provides a good insight into what .pro domains people covet. Claim.pro and Claims.pro are valuable keywords for PPC. They guy who bought them has alot of similar sites with good templates so he would get his investment back pretty quickly. I bought Booking.pro because I wanted a generic ticket and travel domain for my development library and it´s tricky to get something short and punchy in other extensions. Tour.pro is clever because it ties in with several sports where participants play on tour but there is also the travel tour angle.
