This concept sprung to me from a thread i just looked at.

A system, in which a group of Npers are in an Appraisal team, and NP members submit their name to be appraised and pay Xnp$ ..and they get results from the appraisal team their own little NP appraisal cert?

Oo, that would be pretty cool.

Thoughts?

I've always liked that idea, it's interesting to see it rise back up to the top again. The problem is -- who would be willing to take on the appraisal requests -- and especially at that volume?

The NP$ payment for an appraisal is a great concept, though. Not that I have anything against new users at all, most of them are great people who go on to become wonderful members of the community, but it's no secret a lot of them are here for what they can get (an appraisal, in this case), then leave.

Also, a price would reduce the amount of domains submitted.

I think it could work, and would be a nice way for people to earn a bonus for helping others.

We already have the system in place where appraisers can have their Appraiser Q&A approved. There could be a system where incentivized appraisals are offered to them. And once X number of appraisers do a valid appraisal, the appraisal is considered done.

That sounds great, too.

I think a great addition to RJ's idea would be for a system that does not allow users to list a new domain for appraisal if X amount of appraisals are "active", until it reaches the point which RJ mentioned when the appraisal is considered "done". It would eliminate the endless stack of appraisal requests, and new ones could only be submitted when the active ones are finished. B-)

what a great idea guys! i certainly would like to see this idea implemeted :tu:

the appraisal team should only be consisted of experienced members if this was to be done (e.g. maybe more than 500 posts). although, number of posts may not be the best way to gauge ability. maybe someone can come up with another way?

I never go by post count to determine a member's expertise or professionalism -- it's in no way accurate. Usually the combination of a good trader rating, joined date, and reputation tells a lot. :)

If this cannot be done here, i can most def get it done on NPgeek.

Would love to see this feature.
