I just thought would it be worth having a team or 7 or 8 people who are paid say some np$ a month for apprasing domains. you could give them a new group or rank the Appraisers of something.

If you've filled out your profiles in your control panel, you get $2NP per appraisal.

That would take a lot of dedication and people that are very experienced but I'd like to see it as well. I don't really see the need for that many people but 2-3 people that could take charge and ensure that every post was answered to with an intelligent and thought-out appraisal.

I like the idea, because most of the domains i have seen in the appraisal section go without any appraisal or comment. I am sure about a few domains, because i was the only one to comment on them. Also, similar to moderators(200 np$) the appraisal team can be given 4 np$ per appraisal in that section, this can be a good incentive to motivate them. I am not sure whether they have used this sort of technique in the past or not, therefore i thought it will be a good to express my opinion.

For the last time, moderators don't get paid to do their job. They do it because it's a privilege to have the title.

I personally don't think it's a good idea, I think we can work towards getting the appraisals section busy again, but this isn't the right way to go about it IMO.

Thanks for the reply Sabre. I accept your argument however you will have to agree that their needs to be an appraisal team or something of that sort. Not aboslutely necessary but it will be good if namepros.com has one as there are many appraisal requests. :)

Appraisals are really subjective for most domains with no inherent value... although an official "appraisal team" sounds neat, there may be internal disagreement, corruption (perhaps the appraisers involved in an inside deal), and would likely cause more problems than good. However, it's worth to revamp the appraisal sections more, as it seems to be quite disorganized.
