domain Appraisal Confusion - Bestguns.net

I've been buying and selling Domains for a few years now. However the appraisal market has gone crazy. If it is a NEW Domain w/o a website or search statistics it may lead to a very very low appraisal. Even if it is a great investment.

Ideas?

Any of you guys have any thoughts about it's worth considering it to be short - two real words and the timing of it's marketability here in the US?

This is the type of domain that goes good with jelly considering the .NET TLD is now toast. The .NET should be considered for defensive purposes only. I recommend grace deleting ASAP. Focus your efforts on quality .COM domains and veer away from all others. IMO.

com net org us co all reg by what looks to be all different people. Yet no one doing anything with them. Feels like best**** domainers holding. Dont see the dealer endusers here. Bestparty.net sold for 1k this year. Decide if your over or under that term and enduser price your name accordingly. Goodluck

New regs are considered low quality because, it is hard to hand reg good domains at this time.
About your domain, I find it hard to sell. I don't like it how it sounds, "best guns", for what? Best guns to kill?

if as you say...you've been buying and selling names for years -

then...appraisals should be irrelevant.

There are many factors that have led to a total collapse/implosion of the domain markets. Basically it has come down to the basics; supply and demand.

Without going into a lengthy dialog/diatribe I will summarize the current state of affairs which is to say that only .COM domains should be considered for purchase or registration. Then if one so chooses, perhaps a .ORG could be secured as a defensive registration to protect the .COM. This narrows the amount of work involved since now one can simply focus on obtaining quality .COM domains.

On a side note, I think the only chance this website has for long-term survival is for it to become "the forum" on the internet for discussing not only domain names but also baby names. With this change, ad revenues would skyrocket.

They say that when you hear the cleaner talk of buying stock, it's time to get out. I've seen a couple of Godaddy ads on UK TV recently. He will always make money, but does it mean that trading in low value domains is toast? Yes.
