More and more people are paying with apps on their mobile phones.

Appraisals appreciated. Thank you in advance.

This sounds neat. Very pronounceable and potentially brandable. Putting myself as the end user however, my only concern is what an "App Pay" website will do?

At first look it seems like a good name.

But the only possible use would be paying for apps.

All apps are at marketplaces at Google/Apple/Amazon,etc..

This is where people get apps and payment for paid apps is made through each marketplace.

I don't see another way to use this name.

So, I don't think this name has much value.

Unless you find an upstart payment processing company looking to establish a presence in the marketplace, this domain name is a tough sell. Cdomains makes a valid point.

IMO...but what do I know, I'm just a chimp.

Good Luck!

Thoughts on what it would be worth to an upstart company? I was contacted by a new VR company that deals with VR apps. Doesn't seem like a large company. No idea how well financed they are.

This is too broad a term to be used like that.

A company selling apps would just use their own domain and a checkout system, no need for a whole other site for this.

For example: vr apps.xxx/checkout.xxxxx

Just my 2 cents here......

I think it has some potential for an App style payment processor.

Start ups can have deep pockets if they are backed by VC's or other investors and a lot of the start ups see the value in investing on a good domain name. Off course you don't want to over price yourself either.

Maybe throw the ball back in their court and say something like this:

"I'm sure you guys already know a brandable domain like this is a rare find, especially in a .com. I am not in a huge hurry to sell and at this I am merely entertaining offers, feel free to get back to me with an offer and we can take it from there"

Contact them and take what you can get.

The circumstances that make this name usable are few and the chance you will get another offer is slim.

Like I said, it sounds like a good name but..

Mobile/Payment/App/./com is a terrible name.

No company will want this.

That would be like naming a car dealership "car selling store".

No one does that!

Thats why I said they are being optimistic as far as their price is concerned.

Although the term "Mobile Payment App" is a term this commonly used and within context. It's not really the same as comparing it to a term like "car selling store"

Case in point is an article by Time Magazine:

Could a large company use it as an additional link for there payment app with a dedicated name?
Or a app payment technology provider, a start up proving the logistics/programing
Just curious, from a person who doesn't even own a cellphone
