"APPLICATION PENDING" still, on a .eu?

I was interested in a certain .eu, but on whoising the domain, it's STILL showing "APPLICATION PENDING." I believe this is set when more than one party applied for the domain during the sunrise or landrush period (I didn't apply for it myself)? Or could it be that whoever applied hasn't payed (admittedly, unlikely) for it? Is the fact that it's still in this state, weeks later, mean I have any better chance of getting it?

AFAIK its because the ones who applied for this name with no proof of the trademark lost it and now there will be a Land Rush 2 for these names when Eurid indicates on their homepage http://www.eurid.eu/en/general/news

Debatable. PwC has been rather slow in processing claims for domains and many domains are still in app pending. No doubt a lot of domains are in the same state and again, a lot of people will have the same idea about snatching them when they become available.

Get ready the second feeding frenzy! The same people that plundered the best domains the first time will no doubt get these. Only Eurid could offer us two cock-ups for the price of one...
