It doesn't have anything to do with .mobi imho. The stock market in general has taken a dump lately and tech stocks (look at Google as well in example) are no exception. Unfortunately all this hell taking place in the stock market is starting to affect things in the domain market, as we saw with the last domain auction and ridiculously low prices on not just .mobis, but every extension. It looks like alot of people haven't played their cards right (in the stock market or real estate) lately and are now trying to offload domains to cover their butts.
Unfortunately for them, now is about the worst time since 2002 to be doing such. I called Apple a bargain back when it was $130 and I haven't changed my mind... I might make a nice investment in it actually. It doesn't really matter what happens in the short run...
I think we'll see that December 07 was the peak of this domain price cycle......Flat, or declining, domain market now (and ALL assets, actually) for 1-2 years, or so...
After that....well....it'll all come back eventually.
