First of all, let me just take this second to introduce myself to the community, I am new here, my name is Andrew... Hi there ...
I posted this because it is of great to interest to me. I read last evening that on June 30, 2007, Apple Computer filed for a trademark for the name "Multi Touch"...
I own many multi touch names that I purchased from the 26th of June all the way to the 29th of June.
First of all, I thought multi touch was a technology and not a brand. I do not know if that matters in the trademark process.
But I do know Microsoft and Jeff Han are currently marketing Multi Touch Products.
I wanted to set up different sites that focused on Multi Touch and there was no trademark and various groups offering Multi Touch products when I bought the names.
Who knows if Apple will be successful or not in their pursuit, but I am wondering, since I bought the names before Apple filed the trademark, am I allowed to continue to pursue my plans? Am I legally allowed to continue discussing Jeff Han's work and that of Microsoft?
And can Apple really get a trademark for something that is a "generic term" that belongs to all of us?
