I've got an account at Enom through NamePros (Cheers :hehe: ), but I'm looking to get some accounts with other registrars for purposes of backordering tasted domains. I dont want to have to pay large setup fees or make large initial deposits (Dynadot is out at $500 for example), but am willing to pay maybe more than usual for actual registrations. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Could I get several Enom accounts to get round the unwritten 1 API request per second rule?

I don't know how well this will suit your purposes for high-frrequency registration attempts, but $250 will get you started with SRSplus - a NetSol subsidiary with what looks like a decent API for resellers ...

Cheers - thats another possibility :) . Thinking about OpenSRS - but hate having to fax pages upon pages of documents to them to open an account. And they still have a $95 setup.

Any more suggestions? Come on - bet you guys can find some places with API access that are cheaper to get started with :)

I don't know what the startup cost for Directi reseller is but might check if they offer an API which may be useful for your purposes.

The initial deposit for an account directly with Resellerclub (same as Directi) is at least $199. This will give you access to their API which you can script for drop catching purposes.

You can get around the $199 minimum deposit by signing up for a subreseller account under a reseller that already has an account with Resellerclub. Subresellers have the same interface as a reseller account directly under Directi, including the API access. These usually require smaller minimum deposits or some don't even have a minimum. Ask around companies that are already Directi resellers for the best prices on their subreseller accounts.

WSDreg.com ($10 deposit to start): http://wsdreg.com/reseller.php?action=partnersite
Whiz.in ($50 deposit to start): http://resellers.whiz.in/reseller.php
Mediawiz.biz (no minimum): http://resellers.mediawiz.biz/

That looks interesting - can resellers play about with sub-resellers domains? Does anyone else have some good DirectI reseller links?
