I got 2 offers on the same domain through my portfolio site. Both are from the same IP though, but using 2 different emails. Not sure if this is some form of spam, or if its a genuine buyer. They sent me 2 messages, but I don't know Spanish. After doing a lookup on the IP, they appear to be in Peru. (im assuming their language is Spanish?)

Anyway, the messages are as follows

"quiero mandar a ID de ingreso (some username ID)"

and

"quiero q me manden a mi id (some username ID)"

Can anyone please translate this for me?

I do.

Yeah they speak spanish in Peru.

"quiero mandar a ID de ingreso (some username ID)" : I want to send to a login ID

"quiero q me manden a mi id (some username ID)" I want them to send me to my ID.

Both of them make no sense, I dont know what they are talking about and everything is misspelled.

no accent marks. Definitely someone who doesn't speak Spanish too well (a home schooled Peruvian kid?)

Loosely translated it means " Elephants run wild on my front lawn"

I agree... that doesnt make a lot of sense. Then again, perhaps its a different dialect, and I have it all wrong?

=)

You can always try Babelfish for translations. It isn't perfect, but it helps.

Hah thanks Spade, big help there :)

Yeah I tried Babelfish and it made NO sense, but from the interpretations, it doesn't seem like it makes sense anyway :)

Thanks for you help!

I speak Spanish and Portuguese, both of which are similar languages.

He may be telling you in a very broken sort of way that he wants to begin the Authorization Codes or wants you to send the domain to his account, which he equates as the Login ID. You got to remember that some 52% of Americans function on an eighth grade level or less, so in Peru, who knows, 75%??? I know that I have been told by many Brazilians that most Brazilians can not speak or spell their own language very well so I don't feel so bad when I make a mistake.

Also, think how many people here in the States can't get the concept of domain parking, or understand how to do simple domain transfers? Tons of folks.

I have lots of Spanish and Portuguese domains and I have found it difficult at times to communicate with these guys. They send excited emails and then you never hear from them again, so on and so on.

You may not want to give up on it just yet, but at the same time not waste to much effort either.

Thanks Seabass.

Well, like I said, there were two different offers for the same domain, using two different emails but the same IP.

So it seems a bit fishy from the start.

Also the offers were $2000 and $12000...

So it's not something I'm going to waste a lot of time with, but I did email them to see if they speak English or have someone who can translate for them. Though I guess if they don't speak English, they wouldn't be able to read what I wrote :) But the domain is an English language domain, so I don't know.

But for $12k, I'd probably learn spanish...

i know spanish, and that does not make sense at all, all words are correct but the syntax is just awful, more like someone playing dumb with you.
