Do they work with the .mobi extension? (I apologize in advance if posting these names opens the door to any inuendos, jokes, puns, or PG13+ comments. )

Honestly - very weak domains. The concept of a Teenager looking up Puberty.mobi on their cell phone strikes me as ludacris. Not only is .mobi unproven with only a few major sales - those sales have been for domains that make sense in the extensions, like flowers.mobi - People will order flowers over their phones, people will not be looking for information on masturbation via their cell phones......

Agreed.

The extension doesn't fit the keyword, the only way to promote these sites are as information sites and as domainspade said, people aren't likely to be looking up this sort of information on their mobiles.

I'd sell them soon, while the .mobi extension is still overhyped. You might get $40 for the pair on ebay. To me, they're $0 domains. Nobody will look up puberty.mobi... it's just not going to happen, and the idea of masturbation.mobi... if I ever see a guy jerking off on the train while looking at his cell phone... well I'll know you were successful. But I don't think (God I hope not) that it will ever happen.

Mature subject matter

Thank you for the comments about the puberty and masterbation mobi names.

Maybe I should have stated at the outset that I very strongly believe that online access via cell/PDA will become much more widespread than it is today. These terms, no matter what extension is used with them or what kind of device is used to access the internet, can be used to present and discuss these topics with mature audiences online. Value is built, but sometimes it gets a headstart from the inherent quality or uniqueness of the term (for a domain name) or location and view (for a piece of realestate property).

For some people a certain word might be a bit startling to see in print, but these two are no more graphic than many other widely used medical and mature terms presented to the public on TV, on radio talk shows, in the paper, or online at reputable websites. Yes, they do grab one's attention but these are not presented here to be thought of as derogatory, x-rated, self-serving terms. There are plenty of graphic, purely sexual terms posted and discussed at NP and other forums. These two do not fall in that camp.

P_N - These terms are the most PG13 of all my mobi names and I resent the statement that my intent is to be successful at causing the actions stated in your post. I ask that you revise or retract them and I will do the same with this paragraph. Thank you.

I dont disagree that searching the internet via cellphone or pda will not become incredibly popular. My doubt is that people will type in their internet phone browser "Masturbation.mobi" - I personally own adult domain names, Im not offended or bothered by yours. I simply feel that adult oriented names with this extension are worthless. Why not buy them in an easier to recall country code? I dont see the .mobi taking off - and I re-iderate that I dont see these particular names as being successful, even if .mobi does workout. Regardless, I do wish you the best of luck and everything I state is only an opinion, it is not an attack on your character.

I did not take issue with you, your position, or statements. Maybe what confused matters here is how my last paragraph could have been mistaken to look like a PS. My objection was only to the specific graphic comment included in the post by P_N, that somehow success in owning or developing these names could be measured or evidenced by such a crass public action. The statement was hypothetical but over the line, at least to my sensibilities.

We seem to disagree on the fundamental outlook for the future use of the .mobi extension, or at least its use by everyday surfers. That's okay, I understand both points of view. It is so early in the game and there are many threads at NP covering that debate.

As far as guessing at the value of a specific .mobi name, we are all gathering data and accumulating experience as sales occur. It may take a year to sort this all out. But for now, all appraisal comments are welcome whether they are $0 or $xx or $x,xxx.

I agree and I appreciate your clarification. Yes, we obviously have different opinions on the direction of this new TLD - regardless of this, I do wish you luck and hope that I am proven wrong, for the overall value of the marketplace will only increase if this TLD is successful.
