Having a small group of .mobis I want to finally get around to parking them. I looked in previous threads and cannot find the information I am looking for. I know of only Godaddy offering free parking for the .mobi.

Anyone know if Sedo, Fabulous, or Traffic allow parking the .mobi and optimizing for mobile devices? Are other providers available and which place is considered the best.

I can't develope these because of other pressing demands. I wonder if the parking provider allowed a link to offer the sale of the .mobi if that would be a good idea or not.

I have my mobis parked on sedo. I have also tried godaddy but like sedo parking better. Sedo has the names listed as for sale and people can make offers through your parked pages. I have already sold a mobi this way. Good luck!

Thanks everyone, I am going to use Sedo, also thanks for the link. Not planning on making much money form parking, but I want something to show up if traffic comes to my names and the fact of Sedo allowing a "for sale" on the page is great.

Not sure if that will help or hurt with click thrus. On my .coms I never have "for sale" listed as I think it discourages click thrus. But with the .mobi, I think in the beginning stages most of the traffic will probably be resellers or end users, thanks all.

DomainJedi,

I used the link and it looks like normal domain parking. I don't see anywhere on the Sedo park page that a link exists for .mobi. If I just park the name in Sedo will it resolve for mobile viewing?

Yes. Just park your .mobi and Sedo will take care of it.

I'm guilty of parking .MOBI's, as well ... in all fairness ... but is THIS really good for the "ecosystem", IYHO's? :guilty: :snaphappy:

Thanks for your insights ... :tu:

Well for me it is not my long term objective. I consider it a notch above a blank page and certainly better than a non compliant page. A few I will sell but most are just there until I dev. The cool part is that I can better evaluate my next name to dev by picking the one with the most traffic.

As far as the .mobi ecosystem goes, my hope is that the search engines block the parked names for the next 3-4 years to avoid users from getting a sea of parking pages from a search result.

A more important question for you Jeff is how many mobis do you now own? Last I heard it was 2, have you expanded the portfolio?

Great post Scandiman. I'm following the "park, evaluate attention, perhaps sell a name, and eventually develop" model as well. I've currently arranged for the development of two, going on three mobis (the third may actually involve around 10 or more domains): one live but needs content, the other due out very shortly, the third in the planning stages.

To the tenor of the OP, I'm starting to see more traffic on my mobis parked at Sedo.

Sorry to perpetuate a thread hijack, but since the OP got the answer he was looking for...Jeff, about your mobis...

Righto ... I'm up to three (3) .MOBI's now! Honest to Goodness, too. :guilty:
Due to time constraints with developments etc., look for ONE (one word, seven letters) to be auctioned shortly ... and exclusively here on Namepros™ IMHO. :talk:

PS. Good "park (with Sedo), evaluate, develop" strategy, as well ... I've done that successfully with .COM's! :music:
See you soon.

Does anyone know if Fabulous parking can resolve .mobi for mobile devices? I have to choose one and if I can use Fab, that is my first choice.

No problem about the new thread re- direction as I only need a couple anwsers about parking and I find this information interesting anyway.
